Joe Sokoloski, of Antigo, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Weston. He was 61 years old. He was born on June 17, 1949 in Chicago, IL a son of Carl and Jean (Kostro) Sokoloski.
In 1970 he moved to Pickerel with his parents and became an owner of Father and Sons Bar. After he sold the bar he was a salesman for Verne's Honda and Brickner's of Antigo. Mr. Sokoloski later owned Hot Spot at Neva Corners. For the past 20 years he was known as deejay "Hot Spot Joe," providing karaoke at various venues and events throughout the area.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Sokoloski, Grafton; a son, David (Amelia) Compton Wolff, Appleton; a sister, Dawn Roe (William Braun), New Lenox, Il; and two brothers, Carl (Linda) Sokoloski, Plainfield, IL and Wayne Sokoloski (Fern Braun), Joliet, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 17 at 10 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 3 - 7 PM on Sunday and 9 - 10 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
