Robert H. Irvin

Robert H. Irvin, Jr., 77, of Keokuk, died at 2:35 PM Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lexington Square in Keokuk. Robert was born April 29, 1933, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Robert H. Sr. and Alberta L. Azinger Irvin. He married Doris Tiemann on June 17, 1956, in Montrose, Iowa. She survives. He lived in the Keokuk and Montrose area most of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Keokuk businessman for over 55 years, owning and operating Irvin Cycle Sales. He was a member of Keokuk Lodge #29, A.F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite of Quincy, Illinois; KAABA Shrine of Davenport, Iowa; Keokuk Humane Society; and Motorcycle Dealers Association of Iowa. in-law; a brother-in-law; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Irvin. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Blondeau Street with Rev. Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at Sandusky Cemetery in rural Keokuk. Visitation will be after 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Blondeau with family meeting friends from 6 to 8. A public Masonic Memorial service will be at 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Keokuk Humane Society, Sandusky Cemetery Association, or Keokuk American Legion Post #41.
