Lenore L. Touhey

Lenore L. Touhey, 96, of Keokuk, died at 8:20 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa. Lenore was born September 6, 1914 in rural Wyaconda, Missouri, the daughter of A. Edward and Ona May Bane LaFrenz. She married Alfred N. Buss on November 18, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her on February 1, 1968. She married Kenneth L. Touhey on December 18, 1969. He preceded her on June 2, 1986. She had lived in Keokuk since 1929 and graduated from Keokuk High School. She had been employed as a sales clerk at Sullivan-Auwerda for sixteen years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Elks. She is survived by four grandchildren, Douglas Summers, Robert C. Summers and Daniel Summers of Keokuk and JoAnne Summers Gould and her husband, John, of Sacramento, California; eight great-grandchildren, Tyson & Tyler Summers, Robert K., Kaylynn & Kendra Summers, Kari Summers and Brianna & Alejandra Gould; cousins and friends. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judith Lynn Buss Summers; and a sister, Dorothy L. Aord.
