Dorothy B. Larson, 89, of Davenport, IA, passed away Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at her home. Services in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 am Friday, February 16th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport where her family will greet friends from 9:30 am until time of service. Pastor Pat Halverson will officiate. Entombment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Davenport. Dorothy Mae Bunse was born in 1928 at home on a farm north of Newton, Iowa to Ethel O. and Albert J. Bunse. She married Ronald P. Larson on September 23, 1950 in Newton, Iowa. He preceded her in death August 21, 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1949. She was employed by International Harvester Truck Div., Davenport, and Sunbeam Corp., Chicago, as an administrative assistant to the managers. Mrs. Larson was an active member for 47 years of First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, where she served on the Chancel Guild. was the family caregiver, especially for her son Peter, who preceded her. She was gentle, steadfast, loving and forgiving. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Survivors include her daughter Joan (Mark) Anschutz of Northglenn, CO; sons Dr. Chris (Jody) Larson of Denmark, WI, David (Jean) Larson of Ballwin, MO, and John (Jasmine) Larson of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Benjamin (Rachel), Jennifer, Andrew, Sarah, Kirsten and Sheena (Tom Fields); great-grandchildren Lily and Summer; and sister Virginia Cryder of Portland, OR.
