Diane spent her childhood years on the family farm in Alta Vista, IA and graduated early from New Hampton High School. Upon her graduation, Diane moved to Waterloo, IA and attended Hawkeye Technical College. She was united in marriage to Joseph Trewin on October 5, 1985. The couple resided in Clarence, IA. Diane finished her college education at Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Accounting. After several years, Diane and Joe moved to Illinois. Diane began working at a teller at Ashton State Bank and Bookkeeper for Stan Lawson. The couple eventually returned to the Alta Vista area where Diane ran a day care, substituted as a school bus driver for New Hampton Community Schools, laundry care for elderly, snow removal and had a large garden. She enjoyed canning the produce she grew. Diane and Joe were blessed with four children; Joey, Robby, Marie and Tamra. Diane began her career as a fulltime daycare provider after Robby was born. The couple moved to Emmetsburg in 2001. She continued caring for families until April 13, 2013. She then began working for Food Pride and Fareway until her illness wouldn't allow her to work any longer. In June of 2016, Diane was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer, which she fought fiercely and bravely. Diane's love for her family and everyone she met will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Joseph Trewin of Emmetsburg; her children; Joey Trewin of Milwaukee, WI, Robby Trewin of Sioux City, IA, Marie and Tamra Trewin, both of Emmetsburg; her mother, Rosemary Schwickerath of Alta Vista; her siblings, Duane (Karen) Schwickerath of Waverly, IA, Lori (Kevin) Bridges of Plainfield, IA, Larry Schwickerath of Alta Vista, IA, Ronald (Stacy) Schwickerath of Virginia Beach, VA, Neil Schwickerath of Cresco, IA, Connie (Scott) Schwickerath of Buda, TX; her mother-in-law, Sharon Trewin of New Hampton; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Denis Schwickerath in December 2017; her sister, Linda, brother, James.
