Harold Henry Mann, 79, of Urbandale, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa. His funeral will be held at the Church on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Schmidt officiating. A luncheon will be held in the Church immediately following the funeral. Burial will follow in the McDivitt Grove Cemetery in Urbandale, Iowa. Harold was born in Trenton, Iowa on December 22, 1938 to Eugene and Esther (Allred) Mann. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1957. After high school he attended Parsons College before transferring to AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. While attending AIB he met the love of his life, Karen Muhlenbruch. Following graduation, the couple married on February 25, 1961 in Latimer, Iowa. They resided in Des Moines until 1973 when they moved to Urbandale. Harold was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Acanthus Masonic Lodge in Des Moines, and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona. Harold loved to spend time with his family, visiting with his costumers, working, spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, boating, and fishing. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Karen Mann of Urbandale, IA; daughter Brenda Mann of Urbandale, IA; daughter-in-law Rita Mann of Chandler, AZ; granddaughter Nicole Mann of Chandler, AZ; brother Gerald (Deloris) Mann of Waukee, IA; sister Mary Jo (Lewis) Sloan of Ridgefield, CT; sister-in-law Gertrude Muhlenbruch of Grimes, IA; brother-in-law Dale Meyers of Polk City, IA; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Craig Mann; sister-in law Alice Muhlenbruch and Laura Meyers; and brother-in-law Robert Muhlenbruch. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, or Za-Ga-Zig Children's Transportation Fund.
