Dixie L. Sutton, 81, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 5, at home. She was born December 29, 1936 in Lime Springs, daughter of Howard and Lucille Medhaug Mintey. She married Gerald "Skip" Sutton. They were later divorced. Dixie was employed in nursing home care for many years. Survivors include: a son, Timothy (Cheryl) Beck of Waterloo; four daughters, Tina Cobb, Tonia Beck, Cynthia (John) Miller and Kimberlee Adair, all of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Derifield and Janice Corson, both of Waterloo; and her ex-husband, Skip Sutton. Preceded in death by: a son, Richard; a daughter, Barbara; her parents; and three brothers, Gerald, Donald and Robert Mintey. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation will be for an hour before services. Inurnment will be later at New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco. Dixie enjoyed cookouts with her family and her time as a senior companion, as well as Aquariums, gardening and rock collecting.
