William "Mac" John McDonald, 64, of Bettendorf, Iowa (formerly of Eldridge, Iowa), surrounded by his loved ones, died February 21, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Mac, son of William and Edna (Belincoff) McDonald was born March 12, 1953 in Mt. Vernon, New York. In 1975, he married Jane Weydert in Dekalb, IL. He was a football player and a graduate of Graceland University in 1976. Mac was employed by the North Scott school district for 34 years as a physical education teacher. He coached high school football for North Scott for 25 years. Mac was the life of the party and always made everyone laugh with his humor and witty comebacks. He was a lover of golf and played hundreds of rounds at Glynn's Creek Golf Course when he wasn't working driving around as the ranger or in the starter shack. Mac and Jane spent the last 7 winters vacationing in their Florida dream house which was Mac's favorite place to be. He loved grilling and having big dinners with his family.
