Muriel Davis Elmwood - Muriel M. Davis, 95, of Elmwood, passed away at 7:47 p.m., on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on August 29, 1922, in Knox County, to Elmer and Edna (Mathews) Sherman. She married Russell Davis on March 31, 1945, in Knox County. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1995. Surviving are two children, Shirley Rochon of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Wayne (Sydney) Davis of Elmwood; eight grandchildren, Justin, Ty, Travis, John, Chris, Katherine, Susanne, and Patrick; and ten great-grandchildren, Aidan, Kellan, Giselle, Tanner, Jack, Wyatt, Eliana, Liam, Jacklyn, and Logan. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Russell and Dale Sherman; and one sister, Alice Sherman. Muriel was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Yates City. She was also very active with the (DAR) Daughters of American Revolution Organization. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Oaks-Hines Funeral home in Elmwood, with a visitation one hour prior from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
