ook at the Nathan Hale HS lunchroom. Her signature "monster cookies" became a family favorite. Lucille and Wes, AKA as Mima and Papa, poured their lives into their family. Gatherings were common for all occasions or "just because" and included testing opportunities for perspective boyfriends/future son-in-laws. Lucille's' life was enriched by 8 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She did as much for one as she did for all. She nourished them with wisdom, without judgment and helped them grow individually. Her hobbies flourished with each family member: photography, sewing, cake decorating and outdoor recreation. Camping adventures, especially at Deception Pass State Park, were the highlight. Often she arrived, a lone adult with a large group of children, adamantly testifying to Park Rangers that these were all hers. Even after Lucille and Wes retired and moved to Mt. Vernon, WA, their home remained the family hub. They enjoyed adventurous travel trips including one in their camper across the United States. Lucille moved to Village Green and continued an active lifestyle there as well as with her own hobby interests, family visits and trips. She will be remembered for her devotion to Wes, her strong family bond to daughters/extended family, unconditional love and the ability to overcome adversity. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Village Green Retirement Community in Federal Way, WA. As a valued resident, the staff provided her with a high quality of life and a loving home.
