Deborah J. Stark, 66, of Cedar Rapids went to meet the Lord after a 4 ½ year battle with Multiple Myeloma Monday, April 2, 2018. Services:  11 a.m., Thursday, at New Covenant Bible Church by Pastor Bob Westfall.  Burial: 1:45 p.m., Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Teahen Funeral Home and Thursday after 10 a.m., at the church.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Buck; two sons, Jonathan (Jayme) Miller of Parker, CO and Benjamin (Courtney) Miller of Aurora, CO; a daughter, Crystal (Scott) Stark Richards of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, AJ and Caitlyn Miller both of Parker, CO and Lina and Ari Miller both of Aurora, CO; three sisters, Ruthanne Shanks of West Winfield, NY, Grace (Doug) Coddington, Oceanside, CA, and Sharon (Bob) Eelman of North Haledon, NJ; a brother, Wilfred (Joan) Brain of Westtown, NY; her mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Stark of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law Erik, Scott, and Baron Stark all of Cedar Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Lisa Stark of Cedar Rapids and Suzette (Steven Marek) of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Deborah was born June 11, 1951 in Dumont, NJ the daughter of William and Annie Rogers Brain, Jr. She attended Bardonia Elementary School and was a 1969 graduate of Spring Valley Senior High School in New York.  In 1973 she received her Bachelor of Science in Education from The Kings College in New York, NY.  She married Arthur "Buck" Stark on June 27, 2001 in Cedar Rapids.  For the past ten years Deborah and Buck have owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care of Iowa City.  She was a member of New Covenant Bible Church, and was a member of the Society of Human Resources Management.

Deborah loved being surrounded by her family. She was an avid flower gardener and always enjoyed boating and attending Iowa Hawkeye football games. Some of her special times were when she was downhill skiing especially in the Alps.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ghosh and the staff at the Ghosh Center and the Hospice of Mercy staff for their compassionate and dedicated care of Deborah.

Instead of flowers memorials may be directed to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation.
