Ruby Jewel Buchanan, 85, passed away on April 6, 2018.
Visitation will be held at her home church, West Laurel Baptist Church, on Monday, April 9, 2018, at 10:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Rev. Brandon Powell will officiate. Interment will be held in Liberty Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Carrie Clark; her husband, Marvin W. "Buck" Buchanan; brothers, Ira Edward Clark, Joe C. Clark and James Harold Clark; a sister, Mary Agnes Martello and a son-in-law Ted D. Smith.
She is survived by her children, Randol Buchanan and his wife Rita Cormier Buchanan of Prairieville, LA, Debbie Smith of Collins and Pam Buchanan of Laurel; grandchildren, Stacey Harter, Kyal Buchanan, Kimberley Cobb, Alan Smith, Kristen Buley, Ashley Wheat and Ryan Martin; great-grandchildren, Olicia McIlwain, Rickie Buley III, Landon Buchanan, Kylen Buley, Dawson Smith, Chloe Smith and Ben McNeil.
