Mark Seem was born on January 12, 1952 In Lanesboro, MN to Junice (Jenson) and Ernest Seem. He grew up in Harmony, MN and was baptized at Highland Lutheran Church and confirmed at Greenfield Lutheran Church. Mark graduated from Harmony High School in 1970. While in High School he was an excellent student, but also an excellent musician, playing trumpet in the bank and singing baritone in the church and high school choirs. He had a beautiful voice. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Richardson on August 3, 1973 at Greenfield Lutheran Church. He graduated from Luther College in 1974 and while there sang in the Nordic Choir under Weston Noble. Music was such a joy to him and he sang several solos from Handel's Messiah and in the choir. He then attended Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA and was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in 1980. He served congregations at Zion Lutheran in Carleton, NE, American Lutheran in Lincoln, NE and finally at Pella Lutheran in Omaha from 1984 to 2012. olic. He was himself a "friend of Bill W." for many years and had some of his most spirtual relationships with other AA members. Mark was preceded in death by father, Ernest Seem, mother, Juncie Olson, stepfather, Don Olson, father and mother in law, Gene and Deloris Richardson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie of Omaha, son, Matthew (Brittny) Seem of Bellevue and son, Jacob Seem of Littleton, CO. He is also survived by his brother, John Seem (Renee) of Henrietta, NY and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday May 3, 2018 at Augustana Lutheran Church, 3647 Lafayette Ave, Omaha, NE 68131. An additional memorial service will be held sometime this summer for his cremains at Greenfield Cemetery in Harmony, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mark's name to Luther College, Parkinson's Nebraska and Augustana Lutheran Church.
