Larry Devine

Lawrence "Larry" W. Devine, age 93, of Algona, IA died on May 1, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center West Lakes in West Des Moines. He was born August 10, 1924 in Sigourney, IA to James and Edwina (Nemmers) Devine, the fourth son in a family of four boys and one girl. His father died when he was 2 years old. He graduated from Sigourney High School in Sigourney and attended Iowa State University in Ames and St. Ambrose in Davenport. He married Darlene J. Thul on July 23, 1951 at St Michael's Catholic Church in Whittemore. He was a lifelong famer who was always giving to others in need. He did a lot of jobs in his lifetime. He helped build roads in Oklahoma, worked in the drying plants in Whittemore and worked with tiling machines for Paul Dahlhauser.
