Karl R. McKeeman

Karl McKeeman, 67, of Ames, passed away May 9, 2018. Karl Reed McKeeman was born May 11, 1950 to Reed and Reva (Schooley) McKeeman in Leon, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. He married Lu Rickert on August 16, 1975 at the LeRoy Presbyterian Church in LeRoy, Iowa. They moved to Lineville, Iowa where Karl opened a practice. There they had two wonderful children, Jenny Lynn and Karl Michael. Karl was a loving husband and an amazing father. Later the family moved to Wyoming, Iowa where Karl continued to practice veterinary medicine for another 20 years. Karl loved being a husband, a dad, and a vet. He doted on his three grandchildren, Hayden, 10, Nora, 4 and Tara, 2. On the rare occasion he had free time, he was an avid woodworker and a passionate ISU fan. His family always kept him busy with projects - which he loved.
