s known for being liberal with Pioneer gifts.
Miff was generous, optimistic, loyal, honest, and a dear friend to many. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He served on various local boards, was a 70 plus year member of the American Legion Post # 21 in Buffalo Center, the VFW, and the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center where he served as Elder and Deacon. But most of all Miff loved spending time with family and friends. He just enjoyed being around people.
Miff died on April 28, 2018, at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center at the age of, 99.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Denny (Deborah) Wessels of Clear Lake; daughter, Gwen (Jeffrey) Schroder of Indianola; grandsons, Christopher (Gina) Wessels and Corey (Brianne) Wessels; granddaughters, Alison (Mitchell) Stewart and Emily (Lane) Sturtz; great-grandchildren, Christian Donovan, Cadence Wessels, Sydney Wessels, Ryan Wessels, Remy Sturtz, Isla Stewart, Bodey Sturtz, and Blythe Stewart; and serveral nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ferne; parents, infant brother, Theodore; and sister, Gertrude Dorenbush. In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to North Iowa Food Pantry for Families, FAVA (Family Alliance for Veterans of America), or First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center.
