Scott J. Seres, age 46, of Amherst Township, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 5, 2018 while a patient at UH Elyria Medical Center. Born in Elyria on October 8, 1971, Scott had been a resident of Amherst Township for more than thirty years.
He was a 1990 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School where he played freshman football. Following graduation, Scott attended Lorain County Community College.
An ardent fan of all Cleveland professional sports franchises, he was widely regarded as a walking sports encyclopedia. Scott's knowledge of sports statistics and sports history was unparalleled. He was also a voracious reader with a special interest in history. Above everything else, Scott's favorite thing in life was being involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother Florence Seres (nee Borocz) of Amherst Township, and sisters Sheryl Graham of North Ridgeville, Suzanne Seres of Amherst Township, and Stephanie Halfhill (Kevin) also of Amherst Township. He was preceded in death by his father James J. Seres in 1994, paternal grandparents James and Evelyn Seres and maternal grandparents Eugene and Louise Borocz.
