erever she lived. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis for 29 years. Jackie was past president of the Indianapolis Council of Women and the Clowes Memorial Hall Women's Committee, and was a Chair of the P.E.O. State Convention. She was a graduate of Washington Seminary for Women (Pa.) and the Pennsylvania College for Women, now known as Chatham University. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from Case Western Reserve University. Jackie grew up in Michigan and Pennsylvania, and after their marriage, she and Bill lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio and for many years in Indianapolis. She taught elementary school in Findlay, Ohio. Jackie travelled in Europe and spent several months on sabbatical in England with her family. A talented musician, Jackie sang on local radio shows, in church choirs and, as a young woman was a soloist at many weddings. Her love of music was a legacy to her children and grandchildren, and her ability to "Name That Tune" was well-known even in her later years. Jackie was an avid reader ("A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and "A Child from the Sea" were favorite books) and she loved her pets, gardening, needlework and Butler University basketball. Jackie was dearly loved by family and friends and will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held in the Community Room of Robin Run Village at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 16.
