David M. Flaherty, 45, of Williams Bay, WI, formerly of Cedar Falls, IA, died at Mercy Health Hospital in Janesville, WI, on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 after courageously fighting his battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1972 in Waterloo, the son of Michael and Louann Pilipchuk Flaherty. He married Carolyn Hemele, June 2, 2001 at Shelby Bible Church, Shelby Twp., MI. He graduated from West High School in 1990, earned a Bachelor's in Science in Marine Engineering from Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy in 1995, then got his MBA from University of Iowa in 2003. David achieved Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America. He was a United States Naval Reserve, Lieutenant Commander commissioned in 1995 and also a United States Coast Guard Chief Engineer.
