Wilber D. Whipple

Wilber D. Whipple, 89, of Hampton, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. He was born March 23, 1929, in Franklin County, Iowa, to Gerald Jason and Vera Wava (Davis) Whipple. Wilber served his country in the United States Army. He was married to Doris Jean Corbin on June 11, 1952, in Hampton, Iowa. Wilber worked as an auto mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion and the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton. Wilber enjoyed playing cards, reading western books and riding around and seeing nature. Wilber is survived by his wife Doris Whipple of Hampton, brother Verle (Norma) Whipple of Dows, sister-in-laws Mary Ann Meyer-Whipple of Geneva, Shirley Young-Whipple of Hampton and Carolyn Banner-Whipple of Grundy Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lenora Conrad, brothers Lorenzo, Virgil, Roscoe and Merle Whipple. [more]
