Virginia Laura Hiller, 89, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, in West Des Moines, IA. Virginia was born February 6, 1929, in West Des Moines, IA, to Patrick and Clara (Russo) Carlin. She married John Hiller on February 23, 1957. Virginia worked as a baker for 50 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the church choir, Red Hat Society, and Mended Hearts. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Clara Louise Hiller of West Des Moines, IA, and Grace (George) Barkett of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Jon, David A, Olivia T, and Alexandria J Barkett; great grandchildren, Jade Eve, Isaiah Jon, and Emma Faith Barkett; sister, Ethel Pierangeli of Clive, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hiller; parents, Pat and Clara Carlin; brother, David Carlin; and her sisters, Rosemary (Alden), Margaret (Lee), and Grace (Mitchell) Carlin.
