Schiller, Randal "Randy"

Randal Scott Schiller, 48, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 - 5 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Pavilion at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Randy was born May 13, 1970, in Des Moines, to Ronald and Cheryl (Frakes) Schiller. He graduated from Dowling High School in 1988 and eventually found a 23 year home as a security officer at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, retiring in 2018. He married Ranee Peterson on November 12, 2016. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. Randy is survived by his wife, Ranee Schiller, parents, Ron and Cheryl Schiller of Urbandale, son, Damon Van Syoc of Newton, and daughter, Krystyn Schiller of Prairie City; granddaughter Aurelia Retzlaff of Prairie City, step-son Alec Dowdy of Newton, brother, Ronald E.Schiller, Jr. of West Des Moines, his grandmother, Bertha Frakes Parker of Des Moines, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
