Nicole Jean Jensen
MAJ Nicole Jean Jensen was born January 13, 1981, in Estherville, the daughter of Michael J. Jensen and Barbara R. Stevens. She went to school in Humboldt and graduated from Boone High School. Following high school she went to the University of Northern Iowa where she graduated with a degree in finance, statistics, and accounting. While in college Nicole joined the National Guard and as also commissioned through the ROTC program. In 2010 Nicole was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan where she was in charge of supplies at the Bagram Prison. Nicole was a brave and loyal soldier who loved her country. Upon her return to Denver, Nicole worked for the federal government, including the National Parks Service and Small Business Administration. Nicole appreciated the simple pleasures in life and loved spending time with and getting to know everyone she met. She was very caring, helpful, and was there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Nicole was very unselfish and always put others first. She loved being active, going for bike rides, hiking, and playing sports. animals especially dogs, she had a Mastiff named Lucy. Nicole died on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Denver, CO at the age of 37. Nicole is survived by her mother, Barbara R. Stevens of Algona; father, Michael J. Jensen of Ankeny; siblings, John Jensen of Algona, Jennifer O'Connor of Rochester, MN, and Joel Jensen of Denver, CO; nephew, Michael Jensen; nieces, Elizabeth Jensen, Amelia O'Connor, and Charlotte O'Conner; grandmother, Roxie Stevens; grandmother, Lois Jensen; uncles, David (Corann) Stevens, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Stevens, Ben (Linda) Jensen, Dan Jensen, Tim (Nancy) Jensen, and Tom (Ida) Jensen; aunt, Roseanne Jensen; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Milo Stevens; grandfather, Jack Jensen; uncle, Bill Jensen, and aunt, Nancy Stevens. A celebration of life for Nicole was held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Denver Armory in Denver, CO.
