Michael E. Pettengill

Michael E. "Mike" Pettengill, 69, of Waterloo, passed away at home, on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Michael was born on June 9, 1949 in Des Moines, son of Mahlon and Martha (Hughes) Pettengill. Michael married Patricia Foster on June 7, 2008 in Mankato, MN. He worked as a food inspector for the USDA for 10 years until retiring in July of 2011. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also liked polishing rocks to make jewelry. Survived by his wife, Patricia Pettengill of Waterloo; daughter, DeAnn (Tony) Worsham of Alpena, AR; daughter-in-law, Christine Pettengill of Franklin, NE; five grandchildren, Patrick Pettengill of Alpena, AR, Cheyenne Worsham of Alpena, AR, Charlie Pettengill of Green Forest, AR, Christopher Pettengill of Franklin, NE, and Clarissa Pettengill of Franklin, NE; two sisters, Marcella Turner of La Porte City and Esther (Eugene) O'Rourke of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Pettengill; 4 brothers, Lemar, Hurley, Larry, and Randy Pettengill; and two sisters, Dorothy Lesh and Ethelyn Riggle.
