Charles Cephas Peal, of Bertram, died Friday, June 1, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center after a bicycle accident. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Survivors include his mother, Clara Marx; significant other, Kay Studt; children, Zachary Peal, Chelsea Dowdell, and TJ Dowdell; steps, Farrah (Brad) Groomes, Bill (Emily) Studt, Shane (Shamra) Studt, Robert (Sara) Studt; 16 ½ grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Bonnie) Peal, Gary (Sandy) Marx, Kevin (Mia) Marx, Sherry (Louis) Gray, Linda (Dave) Stoneking, and Rita (Richard) Peyton; uncle, Donald Marx; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was called Pappa by all his grandkids. Chuck was born May 14, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976. Chuck Received a Machinist's Certificate from Kirkwood Community College which he put to good use in several machine shops in the area.
