Arthur F. "Art" Jones

Arthur F. "Art" Jones, 78, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, July 13, 2018, at his home. Friends and family may gather in remembrance of "Art" on Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arthur Fredrick Jones was born on March 29, 1940 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Willie Harrison and Martha (Peters) Jones. He attended Maquoketa Schools. He married Judy Templeton on March 11, 1972 in Maquoketa, Iowa. To this union one child was born, Tim. "Art" had owned the Cue in Maquoketa for several years, worked at General Thermal, and for many years at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as a Shear Operator. "Art" loved the outdoors, fishing, trapping, doing puzzles and especially spending time with his family. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Judy Jones of Maquoketa, IA; a son, Tim (Andrea) Jones of Maquoketa, IA; one grandchild, Kylie; sisters, Lavon McCarthy and Marie Cody, both of MN; a sister-in-law, Joann Jones of Charlotte, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
