Billy Ray Smith, 73, born August 11, 1944, passed to his heavenly home on July 15, 2018.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17th at Memory Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18th at Sharon Cemetery. Rev. Ken Harrison and Rev. Bob Taylor will officiate.
Mr. Smith was a branch manager for Lance, Inc. where he retired after 37 years. He was also a former owner of Mr. Charley's Balloon for ten years and was a veteran of the MS Army National Guard. He loved people and was a do-it-yourselfer. He loved hunting and going on mystery trips. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Larken and Estelle Anderson Smith. He is survived by his wife, Judy Thornton Smith, and his two sons, Mark (Deborah) and Jason (Ashley); brothers, James Smith of Moss and Lon Smith of Laurel; five grandchildren, Mason, Lauren, Katie, Joshua, and Caroline; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cous...[more]
