Arthur D. Van Ryswyk, age 83 of Prairie City, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Park Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church. The family will greet friends and relatives from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church or the Gideon's. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1953. He made his confession of faith at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. On July 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to Betty Arlene Van Norden. Art worked in the accounting department at Monfort in Des Moines for many years. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 62 years, Betty; two daughters, Debbie (Morris) Jansen and Terri (Meredith) Van Zee; five grandchildren, Chris (Sara) Jansen, Nicole Jansen, Melinda (Mark) Porter, Josiah (Brittany) Jansen, and Tim Jansen; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Kalley, Kaden, Kale, Carson, Elyse, and Claire. Also surviving are his in-laws, Grace Van Ryswyk, Charles Logsdon, Wanda Van Heukelom and Tunie and Kathy Van Norden; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding Art in death were his parents, his siblings, Aliqie in infancy, Don Van Ryswyk and his wife Doris, Robert Van Ryswyk, Doris Logsdon, and Alice Samson and her husband Robert.
