Funeral services for Mr. Carlos L. Burroughs, age 98, of Cookeville will be conducted 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Kerry Duke will officiate. Burial will be in the Netherland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m., then on Tuesday from 12 noon until time of services at Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Burroughs passed from this life on Saturday evening, August 18, 2018 from the Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. He was born in Overton County on December 26, 1919 to the late J.P. & Martha D. Haney Burroughs. Carlos was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting small game and raising beagle hounds. Carlos leaves his wife, Grace Evelyn Setser Burroughs of Cookeville, TN; daughters, Gail Covington & husband Alec of Alpharetta, GA, Kathy Cooper & husband Sam of Cookeville, TN, and Genevieve Fox; grandchildren, Kim Huntley & husband Steve of Livingston, TN, Lydia Key & husband Dale of Cookeville, TN, Dana Myers of Murfreesboro, and Davis Fox of Carthage, TN; and several great grandchildren.
