her death. Virginia was employed at the Farmers Saving Bank in Beaman for 30 years and was Assistant Vice President at the time of her retirement in 1987. She was the first female bank officer to serve on the Farmers Saving Bank Board of Directors. Virginia served on the Board of Directors until 1994, when she retired. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Beaman and served as its Treasurer for 26 years. Virginia belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, United Methodist Women's Group, and served on the Beaman Library Board. In 1985, she helped organize the first BCLUW School Foundation and served on the board for nine years. Virginia did volunteer work at MMSC for 19 years. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Julie (Rex) McElroy of Beaman, IA, and her two children, daughter Erin (Peter) Parra, and her children, Pete, Luke, and Isaac; son Seth (Deborah) McElroy and his children, Gabrielle and Jacob; Tim (Jacque) Sanderson of Holiday Lake, IA, and his two children, daughter Nichole (Jason) Steffens and her daughter, Lily, his son, Ryan (Julie) Sanderson, their twins, Chloe and Calib; two stepchildren, Marla (Dennis) Dubois, and Anne (Brian) Ahlschwede; five step grandchildren, Stephanie Sewaf, John and Charles Dubois, Ben Ahlschwede, Sara Terhune, and her son, Carson. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Louis Sanderson and Martin Myers.
