Lloyd Shinn, age 81, of Centerville died Friday October 22, 2204 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab. He was born November 23, 1922 at Chapel , MO the son of Eldress and Myrtle (Garr) Shinn. He was raised and went to school in Chapel, MO, and served in the US Army 132nd, He married Phyllis Jean McEldery, on June 25, 1946 at Memphis, MO. He worked for the McKee Button Factory when he was young, but spent most of his life as a carpenter. Pastor Gilbert Hamilton led Lloyd to the Lord at the Seymour Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Jean, a son Wayne Shinn and his wife Kathy of Centerville, a daughter Judy Martin and her husband Jim of Plano, Iowa, grandchildren Dustin Shinn and his wife Marcy of Centeville, David Shinn & Angela Hoch of Centerville, Devan Shinn of Des Moines, a great granddaughter Taylor Shinn of Centerville, 9 brothers and sisters Benjamin Shinn of LeClaire, Iowa, Frank Shinn and his wife Elle of Bettendorf, Iowa, Mary Lowry of Davenport, Irene Harris of Trenton, MO, Geraldine Smith of Tennesse, Inez Shinn of Centerville, Goldene Orr of Long Grove, Iowa, Lucille Brookhart of Davenport, Floyd Shinn and his wife Donna of Allertone, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday October 26, 2004 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastors Don Ploesser and Mark Dye officiating. Friends may call Monday from 9 AM until 8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Exline Cemetery.
