David Tom Grinbergs

David Tom Grinbergs, 55, of Omaha, NE, and formerly of Dallas, TX, passed away the evening of Wednesday, September 26. David, son of Andris and Valda (Vitols) Grinbergs was born in Omaha, NE on November 28, 1962. He graduated from University of Nebraska--Kearney, formerly known as Kearney State College with a degree in respiratory therapy, and in 1990 graduated from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He completed a surgical internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine through Midwestern University in Chicago, IL. He was the husband of Joan Sojka Grinbergs and the father of Rachel Grinbergs of Chicago, IL, Sara Grinbergs of Fort Worth, TX, and Andrew Grinbergs of Omaha, NE. David spent his early career as a compassionate emergency medicine physician before shifting his professional focus to practice management and the business side of medicine. He is survived by Joan, his children Rachel, Sara and Andrew, as well as his mother Valda Grinbergs of Omaha, sister Sandra Grinbergs of Weslaco, TX, sister and brother in law Linda and Neil Coleman of Fair Haven, NJ, and niece and nephew Finn and Abby Coleman. A funeral mass will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Omaha on Thursday, October 4 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Siena/Francis House in Omaha.
