Jess Ryan Carlton, 36, of Hamilton, Illinois, died late Friday afternoon, November 1, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Jess was born March 8, 1982, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Danial R. and Kathy J. Yarrington Carlton. He was united in married to Adrian Seaver on June 15, 2013, in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives. He had lived in Keokuk since he was three months old and was employed by Allied Blending & Ingredients. He enjoyed sports and coaching his children in sports, barbequing, and any type of family time. He liked animals and loved his dogs, Bella and Gibbs, and taking them for walks. He enjoyed swimming and any outdoor activities including working in his yard. He was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders. Jess was a devoted father and husband. Jess is survived by his wife Adrian of Hamilton; three children, Mayzee Raylynn Carlton, Blaine Ray Dean Carlton, and Gage Wayne Ryan Carlton, all of Hamilton; his mother, Kathy Carlton of Keokuk. Other survivors include aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, niece Jillian A. Lorigan, special aunt Faith Carlton Shotts, and uncles Steve Carlton, Raymond Carlton, Ron Carlton, and Ron Yarrington. A Celebration of his Life will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street with Pastor Donnie Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home at 917 Blondeau Street A memorial has been established for his children.
