It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Davie Police Lieutenant Chad Rosen on November 8, 2018. Over the last few months Lieutenant Rosen fought a hard battle with leukemia. Chad has been a member of the Davie Police Department since February 19, 2002. Prior to joining the Department, he worked as a Police Officer at Surfside Police Department for two and a half years and was a graduate from the Miami-Dade College Police Academy in 1999. Lieutenant Rosen's was assigned to Alpha shift in the Road Patrol Division. He was a member of the Mobile Field Force Team, Team Leader on the Crisis Response Team, Field Training Officer Shift Supervisor; and a Department Instructor teaching CPR, AED and First Aid. Chad also shared his educational knowledge through teaching at Broward College/Institute of Public Safety Academy as a Certified First Aid Instructor and as a Law Enforcement General Topics Instructor. Lieutenant Rosen is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer and five children, Ashley, Michael, Shea, Anthony, Zoie; and extended family. The Davie Police Department wishes to extend our sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers to all of Chad's family.
