Melanie Kirsch, 45, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at home. Per Melanie's wishes her body has been donated to Des Moines University and services are pending for a later date. Melanie was born March 30, 1973, in De Queen, Arkansas, to John and Mary (Williams) Whitlow. She married Luke Kirsch on November 25, 2001, in Clarinda, Iowa and they made their home in Des Moines. Melanie was an Improvement Coordinator for Quality at the Iowa Department of Human Services. Melanie was an avid reader and enjoying camping and boating with Luke, her boys and her dog, Mop. Melanie is survived by her husband, Luke Kirsch, three Sons, Zane Kirsch of Des Moines, Zackery Kirsch of Johnston and Caleb Strege of Waukee; two sisters, Joanna (Jasper) Crutison of Houston, TX and Angela (Mitch) Carey of Des Moines; and her brother, John (Sara) Whitlow of Greenwood, Indiana.
