IN LOVING MEMORY OF LENICE JEAN HICKS NOVEMBER 24, 1935 - NOVEMBER 10, 2018 Lenice Hicks, 82, of Cooper City, Florida passed away peacefully on November 10, 2018 at Memorial West Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. Lenice Jean (Peever) Hicks was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on November 24, 1935. Lenice was the only child of Leonard and Doris Peever. The family resided on Granite Avenue in Salem, New Hampshire. Lenice attended Woodbury High School where she played on the woman's basketball team and graduated from Colby Junior College. Ms. Peever met her late husband, David Hicks, in her father's drug store, Peever's, where Mr. Hicks worked. The couple married on July 29, 1955 in East Providence, Rhode Island. They lived in Salem, New Hampshire where Lenice took on the job of a stay-at-home-mother and wife to the couple's five children, in addition to serving on Salem's School Board where she is enshrined on various plaques in schools throughout the district. Several years later in 1981, Lenice, her husband David, and her youngest children, John and Ruthann moved to Cooper City, Florida where she remained for the rest of her life. Lenice Jean Hicks is survived by her five children: Leonard (Robin) Hicks, David (Jo-ann) Hicks, Robin (Ron) Kalil, John (Rebecca) Hicks, and Ruth (Wayne) Freeston; twelve grandchildren: Michael Hicks, Jessica Hicks, David Hicks, Nathaniel Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Zachary Hicks, Philip Kalil, Jeni (Kalil) Freda , Aaron Kalil, Haley Kalil, Ian Hicks, and Connor Freeston; twelve great-grandchildren: Aiden Hicks, Addison Hicks, Cerys Hicks, Annabelle Hicks, Collin Hicks, Avery Kalil, Andrew Kalil, Brinley Kalil, Callie Freda, Camryn Freda, Joseph Freda, and Dax Hicks. Visitation will be on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
