d a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elmwood. During her younger years, she was a Sunday School teacher and a choir member sharing her faith with many others. She also enjoyed being social in the community and played the game of bridge as part of a "card club" with her dear friends for many years. Mary was an educator for 40 years. She began her teaching career in 1960 at Hanna City Grade School and retired in the year 2000 as a 5th grade teacher at Yates City Grade School. In between those years, she touched many children as a teacher and substitute teacher in Elmwood and the surrounding communities. Mary adored her husband Frank and was married to him for 55 years. Her family was the center of her life and she was very proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family finds peace in knowing that she has now joined her parents, brother, and granddaughter, Shannon, in heaven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood. A visitation will be held the night before on Monday, November 19, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Elmwood Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund.
