Larry Squire, from Edmonds, WA peacefully passed away on November 21, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia and as a result, his loved ones have been missing him for many years. Larry was born to Lela and Albert "Punk" Squire on February 1, 1933 in Wilbur, WA . He married the love of his life, Margaret Ziegler on November 1, 1953. Larry served in the Army during the Korean War, then used the GI Bill to attend Eastern Washington University. He was a 6th-grade teacher in the Edmonds School District for over 30 years, as well as the Outdoor Education Administrator, and was honored as a Legendary Teacher. One of his legacies is co-founder of Puget Sound Guitar Workshop. He was a skilled guitarist, yet a rare "non-performing" musician. Besides his love for his family, his passion was to share and teach music to young and old around the campfire, at family reunions or jammin' with friends. In retirement, Larry and Margaret wintered in Arizona to visit with family and attend many music festivals where he would be playing with friends, old and new, on a camp chair among the RVs. d friends laugh. We all loved to hear him sing "I just don't look good naked anymore". He was the family photographer, an avid runner, fisherman and even climbed Mt. Rainier. Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Margaret; daughters: TK Leathers, Denny (Jim) Bowles, Kathy "Mo" (Carr) Lanham; and son, Pat (Dawn) Squire; as well as 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and counting.
