Doris D. Petrie, 90, of Conrad, IA, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Green Mountain United Church of Christ, 403 Woolston Street in Green Mountain, IA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., until the time of the services, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the church. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, IA. Memorials may be directed to Oakview Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com. Doris was born March 11, 1928, to George and Martha Marie (Lieberum) Overstake in LeGrand, IA. She was a graduate from Green Mountain High School. Doris was united in marriage to Robert Earl Frye in Green Mountain, IA, and they later divorced. She married Floyd L. Petrie on August 14, 1975, in Galena, IL. Doris was employed by Security Saving Bank as an Executive Secretary working with the auditor, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Green Mountain United Church of Christ. Doris will be missed by her son, Jerry (Gail) Frye of Conrad; her daughter, Teddie (Glenn) Hillygus of Conrad; seven grandchildren: Jeannette Frye, Michelle (Ben Jones) Frye, James (Mindy) Frye, Neil McCubbin, Sean (Jessica) McCubbin, Danielle (Michael) Todd, Pat Hillygus; eight great grandchildren: Jared (Bailey), Travis, Gabby, Bella, Dalaney, Deja, Logan, Kayla; great great granddaughter Amarah; and sister Marilyn (Russel) Balmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Petrie, her parents, and her foster brother, Bernard (Bud) Hancock.
