John Petrucci

John Petrucci, 90, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away, Wednesday, November 21 at his home in Spring Hill, Florida. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 11 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service. John was born March 26, 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island to Rocco and Maria (Faella) Petrucci. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the Army and earned several medals, including the Purple Heart. John was employed as a car body painter by Tutwiler Cadillac until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed gardening with many varieties of plants and flowers and watching the variety of birds that would visit his yard. He was especially fond of hummingbirds. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and always kept journals of the trips they took. A life-long baseball fan, one of his great joys was watching the Cubs, his favorite team, win the World Series. He remembered players and statistics from the Brooklyn Dodgers, his childhood team, through current day teams and players. He never met a stranger when it came to discussing baseball. John is survived by his wife Marion, son Michael Petrucci, daughter Sylvia Lewis, granddaughter Chloe Petrucci, great granddaughter Holly Slinger, sister Lee Faiola, stepsons, Tom, Rusty and Paul Hand and stepdaughter, Meg Hand, 5 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Maria, son Mark Petrucci in 1999, son-in-law Jim Lewis in 2017, brothers Italo, Robert, Guido and Jimmy.
