Mary Jane McDaniel

Mary Jane McDaniel, 84, died peacefully in West Seattle, on November 29, 2018. Mary Jane was born on August 17, 1934 in Mount Vernon, Missouri, the second daughter of Raymond R. White and Pauline (Stroud) White. Mary Jane was raised in Mount Vernon, Missouri until 1944 when the family moved to Seattle. Mary Jane graduated from West Seattle High School and later worked at Fray Equipment Company in Seattle, where she met her husband Bill, a civil engineer. Bill's career in heavy construction moved Mary Jane and Bill around the Pacific Northwest and they eventually settled in Vancouver, Washington. Over the years, Mary Jane also worked for a brokerage firm, the Internal Revenue Service, volunteered at church working with children, and had her own antique shop. Mary Jane loved antiques, quilting, gardening, American history, politics, and was grounded in her faith in Christ. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, lived a life of faith and she will be deeply missed by family and those who knew her.
