Dr. Edward S. Koutnik, age 60, of Seattle, WA, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away at his home, with his wife at his side, on December 12, 2018, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. Edward was born November 17, 1958 in Two Rivers, WI, son of the late Robert and Elva (Young) Koutnik. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers and then continued on to Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI for his bachelors (BS) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1985. It was during this time that he married the love of his life Cynthia (Gauthier) Koutnik in 1981. After getting his doctorate in dentistry Edward and his wife moved to Manitowoc where he bought his first dental practice. In 1987 they moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI where he continued his dental practice until his retirement October 2017. Upon retirement he and Cindy moved to Seattle, WA where his daughter, Katie, and her family live. During his lifetime Ed enjoyed the outdoors and everything that came with it. Ed was an avid hunter, backpacker, and ultimately, Master Falconer. n the Cascade Mountains. But above all else, Ed cherished his family. His most prized title he ever earned was "Papa", given to him by his granddaughter Fenna. Ed was the kind of man that people wanted to be around. He was compassionate, kind, and optimistic. He had a warm smile and a light-hearted sense of humor that uplifted all those around him. He loved life and loved people dearly. Ed will be greatly missed by his wife: Cindy Koutnik, Seattle, WA; daughter: Katie (Kern) Luhman, Seattle, WA; son: Drs. Edward (Cassie) Koutnik, Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Fenna and George Luhman, Seattle, WA; siblings: Barb (Don) McMasters, Pinetop, AZ, Betty (Thomas) Arndt, Milwaukee, WI, Nancy (Michael Trost) Koutnik, Atlanta, GA, Dr. Robert (Monica) Koutnik, Two Rivers, WI.
