. She was an avid bowler and helped found the Oskaloosa 600 Club. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Newton and the American Legion Auxiliary in Oskaloosa. She was also a member of the First Methodist Church in Newton. Mabel was always full of life and was loved greatly by her family and friends.
Her family includes her two children, Carolyn (David) Cupples of Newton, David (Mary Lou) Ankeney of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter in law (Daniel's widow), Cheryl Ankeney of Norfolk, Nebraska; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene Daniels, a son Daniel, and her seven siblings.
A memorial service and burial are planned for the spring in Beacon Cemetery. As was her wish her body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be given in her name to the Keo-Mah Genealogical Society.
