ce upon a time 'trophy girl' at stock car races was truly one-of-a-kind. In her younger years, Barbara enjoyed bowling. This would later be replaced with taking her grandchildren on trips, spending countless hours researching genealogy and by her duties with the D.A.R. Sophisticated, proper, proud, patriotic, thoughtful, generous, giving, independent, a bit stubborn, and elegant are all words that have been used to describe Barbara. She was thorough and detailed, even though she left enough room to change her mind a few times along the way. Barbara often said, "Life is an adventure!" While Barbara has embarked on her new adventure, she would certainly want her family and friends to carry on with as much adventure as they could absolutely pack in. Those Barbara leaves to cherish her memory include: her daughter, Debi Provencal and husband, Martin; four grandchildren: Lindsey Newman and husband, Daniel; Cassie Drake and husband, Tyler and their children: Addie Mae and Joey Grace; Amy Garrett and Jonathan Provencal; sister, Wanda Downen and a sister-in-law, Virginia Herndon. She was preceded in death by: her parents and her brother, Clyde.
