Janet Ludwig
Janet A. Ludwig, age 69, of Rochester, MN passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Hospital from pulmonary fibrosis. Janet Alice Klongerbo Ludwig was born on October 19, 1949 in Estherville, Iowa, to parents Merle and Mary Lou Klongerbo. She was their first born child. Janet attended public schools and graduated from Estherville High School in 1967. She attended college prior to marrying and having her children. After her children were older, she returned to nursing school and obtained her RN degree. Janet initially worked as an RN in Charleston, South Carolina, and after moving to Rochester, worked for 20 more years as an RN in various roles at Mayo Clinic Hospitals. She retired in 2009. Janet took great joy being actively involved in her church: in Christ Care, as a Stephen Minister, and as a Grief Group co leader. Her faith and her family were the most important things to her. She cherished her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed numerous trips to England with her London friends, collecting antiques, shopping, watching sports, reading and spending time with her many other friends. children and seven grandchildren, Michael (and Liz) Faris and children, Emily, Grahm, Ben, Luke and Nate of South Ogden, Utah; Jennifer (and Jeff) Feece and children, Zachary and Rachael of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by two siblings, Ross (and Terri) Klongerbo and children, Kristin (Chris) and Ben of Winter Park, Florida, and her baby (and favorite) sister, Karen (and Mike) Margitan of Rochester, MN; nieces, Anne (Steve) Shaffer and Sara (Bryce) Klongerbo numerous cousins and many special friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church (869 7th Avenue SE) with the Reverend Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Stephens Ministry of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
