St. Paul, Minn. - Shawn David Mayer, age 43, passed away after a short illness on January 5th, 2019. He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wiggin; grandmother, Betty Mayer, cousin, Kristi (Mayer) Stockley. Shawn is survived by his Mother, Susan Mayer; grandfather, C. James Mayer; Uncle and aunt, Fred Mayer and Patricia Mayer; cousins, Eric (Amanda) Mayer, Ryan (Jennifer Rice) Mayer; Great-Uncle, Roger Mayer and his family; other relatives and friends. Shawn was born in Madison, WI. As a child, he lived in several cities in Wisconsin, including: Bear Valley, Richland Center, Madison and Warrens. He also lived in San Francisco for a short time before he and his mother settled in St. Paul, MN. Shawn was a graduate of Highland Park Senior High in St. Paul. MN , and a graduate of Vermillion Community college in Ely, MN where he obtained his AA & AS Degrees in Water Quality Sciences. He was a 16 year employee of the City of St. Paul - Water Department. A celebration of Shawn's life and memory will take place at Cress Funeral Home on Speedway Road in Madison, WI at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 19th. A meal of remembrance and friendship will follow in the community room at Cress Funeral Home.
