Richard S. Manning, 63, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away on Friday evening, February 8, 2019, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, February 15, 2019, at Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Richard from 12:30 P.M. to 2 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Richard Sanford Manning was born on April 10, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Charles "Chuck" and Jane (Edwards) Manning. He had first worked as a logger, and then began a long career in road construction with Gannon and then Denco Highway Construction until retiring in 2000. Richard enjoyed sitting around the campfire, fishing and spending time at his campground in Fulton, cookouts with his kids and grandkids, and making dinners for his children.
