hen he was able to buy $4.00 pizzas off campus and return to the dorms to sell them for $5.00 each! Faith in God has long been a priority for Kevin. In his teens, he was active in the youth group at Woodland Park Assembly of God. In fact, it would be on a youth group float trip, in the summer of 1986, that he would be introduced to his future wife, Cindy. A mutual friend, Ken Jones, was responsible for their introduction. Learning that they shared the same birthday certainly got Kevin and Cindy talking that day; however, it would be several years later that the two would run into one another at an apartment complex, in Tulsa, where they were both living. Regardless of the time that had passed, there is no doubt that, in one another, they each found their soul mate. Upon their reconnecting, Kevin and Cindy were engaged within six months and were married six months after that in November of 1993. Artistic and talented, Kevin worked in drafting and design. He even owned his own woodworking business for a time. This was during the early years of marriage and to demonstrate Kevin's devotion to his wife, to his own name, and simply for standing up for what you believe in, an unfortunate set of circumstances left Kevin in a position where it would have been easy to call it quits. Instead, he took on four additional part-time jobs to climb out and come out on top! Determined would certainly be a word to describe his character. He would further demonstrate this later in 2002 when he went back to school to attain his bachelor's degree through the University of Phoenix. Even before having boys of his own, Kevin began coaching sports. He loved to volunteer his time in this way as he helped children become a part of something bigger than themselves. Cindy could tell early on in their relationship that Kevin's heart for children, and the way he encouraged them, meant that he would be a great dad! In fact, she said that was one of the reasons she fell in love with him. Once Zach and Ethan were big enough to play sports, if Kevin wasn't coaching, he was certainly involved in some way, shape of form. He was not one to be the center of attention, nor did he search for the spotlight; however, he was steady and dependable and loved by everyone! There is no doubt that Kevin's sons were his world. They meant more to him than anything and, in return, Kevin was a fantastic father. He used almost every situation as an opportunity to teach his boy's a life lesson. Today, they are so thankful for those lessons and wouldn't the world be a better place if all fathers were a bit more like Kevin? Loyal to a fault, passionate, humble and artistic are words that describe Kevin. He could draw, paint, build, cook, you name it! He was a coach for many years, instrumental in the Bixby Youth Football Association and President of the Quarterback Club for Bixby High School. He would do anything that was asked of him, including loading and hauling the inflatable football helmet to many games. No matter how you knew Kevin, whether as a family member, co-worker through QuikTrip, football associate or otherwise, we can all agree that Kevin was a man who would truly give the shirt off his back and offer help to anyone in any way possible. In Kevin fashion he would say to you, "I'm glad you got to spend some of your life with me!" As it was common place for him to say, "Glad you got to see me!"
