John McCallack

John McCallack, 79, of Manchester, New Jersey, died Friday, February 22, 2019, at his home with his wife at his side. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, John graduated from St. Mungo's High School in Glasgow. Following high school, John became a pipe fitter, a career that took him to all parts of the world for various companies. He came to the United States in 1969 and lived in Northern New Jersey for most of his life. He continued his work as a pipe fitter working for many years for Hoffman La Roche. John had a strong affinity for Ireland having spent happy times there as a child. He enjoyed Irish music and dance, always helping others especially his family, and was a voracious reader. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia and his three step-children Kelly (Edward) Angeli, Budd Lake, N.J., Daniel Blair (Miriam), Saudi Arabia and Amy Blair, Beacon, N.Y. He is also survived by two siblings Thomas (Sandra) McCallack, Scotland and Kathleen (John) McGrory, Scotland. He is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Larry Cullen. A Memorial gathering will take place on Friday, March 1, 2019, from 11-1 PM, with a service at 12:30 PM, at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Service, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, N.J. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to John's favorite charity, Autism Speaks.
