he also loved animals, especially cats, dogs, and calves.
Janice is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years Don DeBoef of Oskaloosa; their son, Scott DeBoef of Oskaloosa; her sister and her husband, Jeannine and Stanley Deaton of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Dorothy Bishop; and two brothers, Clair Jerry Bishop of California and Jackie Raymond Bishop of Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Douglas Smiley officiating. As was Janice's wish her body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony. Private family burial of the urn will be in the Warren-Powers Cemetery at rural Adelphi in Polk County at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Sunday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 2-5 Sunday afternoon to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Keo-Mah Genealogical Society in Oskaloosa or a charity of the donor's choice.
